Some points to help us effectively encourage members to submit names and do indexing (goal for 2024)
PREPARATION
1. As a council we need to know and learn the process of submitting names and indexing ourselves. It can be learned step by step by doing it together or through training. This way, it is easy to encourage others if we ourselves know how to do it.
2. Each council member will have a specific assignment or have specific families/individuals to assist and report on it during its meeting.
COLLABORATION:
This plan needs the help of other organizations.
For example:
1. Each organization in the ward can help in implementing the plan. Ministering bros or sisters can encourage/remind their assigned families about it.
IMPLEMENTATION (These are just ideas-they can be modified)
1. It can be part of any ward activity.
Examples:
a. In a ward home evening, the lesson can be about Temple and Family History and an activity can be made- creating church account or indexing. Doing this in their respective FHE can also be encouraged.
2. In an activity for couples/RS/EQ/SA/YOUTH while the activity is yet to start, we can insert helping someone who doesn't have an account or help with name submission.
3. The rest can be assisted during Sundays after the classes. Council members can have specific assignments as to whom they would assist that particular Sunday. 1 or 2 individuals/families every Sunday will do.
Pres. David O. McKay said, "Every member a missionary."
